I’d take the Trailblazer SS hands down. With only one second seperating the two, I’d much rather have the Chevy in my garage. Especially when you can get the SS with base level trim for about $32K MSRP…

I would much rather have the trailblazer ss since the jeeps are well known to fall apart in a short period of time.

I’d take the Jeep, it looks a lot better.

GM just can’t win. They keep holding back. Hey GM give us everything you have to offer, we will buy it.

The jeep does look sick I saw a black one with dark tint yesterday…..GM can’t win cause they sit on their hands for 4 years before the bean counters give them the go ahead.

With a Tune to fix the conservative Setting from GM.TB SS would be even or pass the Jeep. You can tow with the TBSS and not the Jeep.

you are retarded to like a trail blazer its 2 wheel drive it has the same engine as an h2 its a four speed auto? 6.3 0-60 or 4.7? mmmm il take the jeep even if it was 30 k more

  8. Avatar

You must be retarted if you want to pay 30k more for 4WD and a second! 30k can buy some bad ass mods. Your dumb.

I like the way the jeep looks, but the trailblazer is cheaper and its the ls6 in about a year there would be millions of aftermarket parts for that engine that can make it way faster than the cherokee, and trailblazers are more comfortable than cherokees Ive rented both and trailblazers are awesome.

its a chevy with an ls6!! nothing else to say.

I own the SS, and it kicks ass. I don’t know about the reliability of the Jeep seeing as how Chrysler is prone to major “oopsies” in quality or glitchiness if there is a word. I have driven normal TB’s and never had a flaw in their reliability or performance. Note that they were work vehicles, so my bias was in neutral territory when driving them for the past few years. I have to say my SS is quite fast and with an LS2 mind you all… it’s no slouch. I know the aftermarket will really do wonders to this beast. I did look at both vehicles before buying and have to say it’s all opinion, but the SS is classier, sleeker, and is very comfortable. It handles like a sports car. I have the AWD model and with the 20″ wheels, upgraded Bilsteins, and beefier front swaybar it is really planted! Braking.. is very good. No problems with that at all.

Now.. for the sake of saying so… Ford has to try to ante up on this showdown. If they were to have had anything right now that’s comparable, I’d doubt it would sell nearly as well as the TBSS or the SRT8. Their interior quality just sucks! Ok.. TBSS!! Enough said.

I am new to this forum, but heard about this thread on another forum I belong to. I have owned my LT based TBSS since Dec 2005. It has been a blast and it does kick ass. It’s not the fastest thing on the road, but it’s the fastest thing I’ve ever owned. Just to see what all the hoopla was about, I took the time to test drive a GC SRT8. It has lots of power and some very sharp 5 spoke chrome rims, a killer stereo, but the cab noise was too loud for me. Here are my comments. http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=11567. It did not bash the GC SRT8, I just wrote about what I found. If I had it to do all over again, the only thing I might do differently, is get the TBSS in a color other than black. Man it’s hard to keep clean. I have been a Chevy man since I took my first ride in the back of my dad’s 1953 pickup. Just wanted to add my two cents.

The TBSS has a 6.0L LS2 not an LS6. An LS6 Z06 motor would be killer in a TBSS.

I own a 06 TBSS and it is a great truck. That 0-60 in 6.3 is a bit off. I have a Diablo tune in mine and a K&N filter. Mine’s an AWD. I have a friend that has a GC SRT8 and we have raced at every speed. My TBSS is about a car length behind from the get go and stays right there all the way up to 120. So as far as the trucks being close in speed they are. The brakes on the TBSS are better then the SRT8. The truck flat ou stops faster. Now as far as handling the SRT8 is a little better. The ride in the TBSS is much smoother. It’s a tight suspenson but it’s not as rough as the SRT8. I would love to own a SRT8 but the price differance in the two is drastic. I paid $33K for my fully loaded TBSS with NAV. There are a lot of guys on Trailvoy.com that are running in the 12’s with less than $5K in mods. There are a ton of mods for the TBSS because of the vette engine. Don’t get me wrong they are both great trucks. I would own either. Both interiors as far as I’m concerened are cheap. You can’t get around that in either. The reason the TBSS is slow in stock form without a simple tune is because of the torque management. It just kills the available power to put down. With the tune the truck is very responsive. It’s totally different then in stock form. I paid $299 for my diablo tuner. There are a lot of better tunes out there that can be loaded in for example Vectors tune. Bottom line is you put a tune in the TBSS and you have near GC SRT8 performance in a straight line. Other things you get with the TBSS are rain sensing wipers, heated seats that not only heat the back of the seat but the bottom. I don’t believe the jeep does that. I have adjustable pedals, NAV and the capability to tow a lot. What the Jeep has over the TBSS which sets them apart in my mind is a much better transmission. It has a real tranny in it for this kind of power. The GC SRT8 is an all around better truck but it is a bit more money. If you want a fast truck with a tone of capabilities for not a lot of money then go with the TBSS. A couple grand in mods such as tune, exhaust, CAI, pullies, converter and headers you will be in the low 13’s if not in the 12’s. Peace all…

The jeeps are great but they dont have tranny or rearends to hold up to the power. My mom first bought the jeep with the 5.7 hemi we replaced the rearend 3 timea and the tranny once. Then she bought a silver srt8 which is one of the fastest vehicles ive ever drove. We had it for 1 day when the tranny went out. Then the rearends 2 weeks later. Finally in 2 months of owning it the tranny went again so we filled for the lemon law and got a a red srt8 theres 1200 miles on it and we are starting the same problems over. Jeep runs good and looks great but Im a chevyman till the day I die

WHATS UP WORK FOR JEEP DRIVE THE SRT-8S ALL THE TIME. I OWN A TBSS IF THAT HELPS, DONT GET ME WRONG LIKE BOTH ESPECIALLY THE 5 SPEED TRANS AND THE BREMBOS ON THE JEEP BUT THE TB IS MORE COMFORTABLE TO ME THE GRANDS ARE GREAT BUT DONT TOW AND I TOW A FEW THINGS AND ITS NICE TO HAVE THAT OPTION. JUST AN CAI AND TUNE WOKE UP MY TB ALOT. AS THE DURABLITY OF THE JEEPS I HAVENT SEE ANY ISSUES ON DRIVETRAIN AT ALL BUT I HAVENT SEEN ANY WITH HEAVY MODS YET JUST THE USUAL. THE COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THE GRANDS ARE THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW REGULATORS THATS ALL IVE SEEN SO FAR. BOTH TRUCKS ARE AWESOME FUN BOTH CAN BE MADE FASTER JUST DEPENDS ON THE SIZE OF YOUR POCKETS BUT I DID GO THE CHEVY WAY BC MODDING THE JEEP WILL ALWAYS BE PRETTY EXPENSIVE EVEN MITH MY EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT.

LUQUIDDI- THE GRANDS DO HAVE HEATED SEATS AND THE SENSORED WIPERS.
SCJZMAN- IVE HEARD THE LS6 TBSS COMES OUT NEXT YEAR AND IT IS GONNA BE BAD THAT MOTOR GAINS AMAZING POWER WITH SIMPLE UPGRADES
