2008 Chevy Silverado Spy Shots
The camera-ready Crew-Cab was decked out in the Z71 off-road package, and wearing brochure-red paint.
Riding on the GMT900 platform, the Silverado’s introduction comes after that of the full-size SUVs, and up until this moment - has been very well hidden behind miles of black vinyl. Although this was originally scheduled to arrive as a 2008 model,
Chevrolet has been working at a fast pace and the Silverado will likely debut this fall, with production starting as early as October. And, as one can clearly see, this is no Tahoe clone, but a unique look including stacked headlamps, which separate the trucks from the SUVs.
Personally, I’m not sure what to think of it. It’s got a square front end. Does it resemble the Nissan Titan? To me it doesn’t seem to flow very well. What do you think?

I don’t see much of the Titan in the new Silverado. I’m don’t like the Dodge Ram like paint-chrome-paint front bumper
Friends at GM tell me the truck looks MUCH better in person then it does in those pics. I hope they are right…
I’m glad GM didn’t wait 10 years again to do this (it was 9 but whos counting). Nobody likes change, but many current haters will have one in their driveway before it’s over.

I like the new tahoe and the ave but the pickup looks a little weird to me. Maybe I have to see a better picture, but from this view I’m not to sure if I like it.

the flow of the body lines between the front and rear fenders appears mismatched- is this a “stepside ” ??? would probably look better as a regular cab, or extended cab, with a wide box- reg. cab with a 8′ wide box “z71″ would look awesome .

i think it almost looks like a sport-trac just supersized i dont know not real fond of it i guess i think that chevy should go for the mean bad ass look i dont know

I didn’t like these spy shots either due to the partially open hood and tacked-on accessories. I worked up a quick photoshop to show what these things would like the way many FSC’ers would do them…removed the roof rack, debadged the z71 sticker, pulled the running boards, removed the lower front air dam, and added a billet bowtie. Wow Gm has lost my business. IMO their new designs suck. They are trying way to hard.I will now go European before I ever buy a GM again. Benz, Audi, and BMW are looking real good. It’s sad how a great company can turn into crap because of poor management and poor business decisions.

GM jacked it up. I can see the Nissan influence, Mitsubishi Raider influence and it just plain doesn’t look like a Chevy. I think the General hit the pinnacle of full size 4×4 design with 99-06 trucks. The 88-98 are pure classic.

i think it looks like they took a bed off of a colorado, then put a chevy emblem on the titan. They bed doesn’t even look big enough to be practical with it.

hmmm….dan the man…GM has lost your business, so you claim to be in the market for a truck, but I wonder how many trucks Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW are cranking out?
I’d reserve judgement until I see it in person…that said, I don’t believe the new design flows very well based on these pics.

I think it looks like an accident between a canyon and the new style dakota.
Dont like it much at all. Let’s hope the Sierra will look better than the silverado.

I really think a solid color bumper, and a decent grill shell would really change up the front end. Make it appear a little more bold, and not so femine. I also think sadly for you sport truck guys that this model is going to look much better lifted in the air.
Overall, I think it will grow on me as time passes.

I not liked the 03 to current(FSC) model truck do to the front end. Now I dont Like the truck, do to the fact that it looks to importish. the only thing I like is the front end.

Wow the fenders look horrible from the rear picture. It sorta looks like a nissan xterra mini truck with the fenders! i like the grille. It screams badass! Mixed emotions.
