GM to cut 1,000 jobs in Oshawa
Due to falling demand for pick-up trucks south of the border, General Motors has announced that they’ll be cutting 1,000 jobs at their Oshawa, Ontario manufacturing facility. The cuts will come from eliminating one shift.

GM starts Malaysian joint-venture
GM has announced plans to start a joint venture with Malaysia’s DRB-Hicom to sell a range of Chevrolets in the country and possibly set-up a manufacturing base for cars and parts for sale in southeast Asian region.

Ford is ramping up hard to have a F150 and possibly the Expedition powered by a v8 diesel on the streets in 2009. Dodge is working a v6 diesel for 2010, Nissan and Toyota are both still at the drawing board on it.

FSC wins 1st place!
Back in 2002, FullSizeChevy.com’s East Coast members made the Carlisle All Truck Nationals their official playground. We had about 7 trucks show up that first year, but each year since we have won 2nd and 3rd place awards for club participation.

Tundra takes Sierra?
General Motors reports that the Sierra has sold 115,185 units year-to-date. The figure, however, includes 2006 and 2007 models of the Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500 (three-quarter ton), Sierra 3500 (one-ton) and even the 2007 Sierra “Classic” based on the older GMT800 platform.
