Roush to build a Silverado?
Sep 04 2007, 07:05 AM

This image was posted over at www.camaroz28.com and there are NO details on it. I’m sure the Roush crew will be hiring again as soon as they figure out which one of their people took this picture!

We’ll be on the lookout for more information on this!

ok, this was in this weeks autoweek, great source for the fast action going on! Roush is going to start working with Chevy, as Ford sucks! I am a converted Ford guy, sold off my mustangs now I have a 04 crew z71 4×4, and a HHR in Blue…. but I still lust after some Stangs… anyway, Roush is working on it all.

I hope they focus on performance instead of bs body add on’s. Thats the last thing GM needs IMHO. SBRC!!! :)

I find this very hard to believe. He’s got FORD tattooed on his butt.

Dec 12 2007, 11:44 AM

I saw an article saying that Roush was moving to GM products because of their dissatisfaction with Ford, or something to that effect. I’ll post the link if I can find it again.

A Christmas Carol By Charles Dickens

In this essay I will write about the high points of the book including all three ghosts and how scrooge became a changed man. It starts off with A mean spirited, miserly old man named Ebenezer Scrooge who is sitting in his home on a frigid Christmas Eve. His clerk, Bob Cratchit, shivers in the anteroom because Scrooge refuses to spend money on heating coals for a fire. Scrooge’s nephew, Fred, pays his uncle a visit and invites him to his annual Christmas party. Two portly gentlemen also drop by and ask Scrooge for a contribution to their charity. Scrooge reacts to the holiday visitors with bitterness and venom, spitting out an angry “Bah! Humbug!” in response to his nephew’s “Merry Christmas!”
Later that evening, after returning to his dark, cold apartment, Scrooge receives a chilling visitation from the ghost of his dead partner, Jacob Marley. Marley, looking haggard and pallid, relates his unfortunate story. As punishment for his greedy and self-serving life his spirit has been condemned to wander the Earth weighted down with heavy chains. Marley hopes to save Scrooge from sharing the same fate. Marley informs Scrooge that three spirits will visit him during each of the next three nights. After the wraith disappears, Scrooge collapses into a deep sleep.
He wakes moments before the arrival of the Ghost of Christmas Past, a strange childlike phantom with a brightly glowing head. The spirit escorts Scrooge on a journey into the past to previous Christmases from the curmudgeon’s earlier years. Invisible to those he watches, Scrooge revisits his childhood school days, his apprenticeship with a jolly merchant named Fezziwig, and his engagement to Belle, a woman who leaves Scrooge because his lust for money eclipses his ability to love another. Scrooge, deeply moved, sheds tears of regret before the phantom returns him to his bed.
The Ghost of Christmas Present, a majestic giant clad in a green fur robe, takes Scrooge through London to unveil Christmas as it will happen that year. Scrooge watches the large, bustling Cratchit family prepare a miniature feast in its meager home. He discovers Bob Cratchit’s crippled son, Tiny Tim, a courageous boy whose kindness and humility warms Scrooge’s heart. The specter then zips Scrooge to his nephew’s to witness the Christmas party. Scrooge finds the jovial gathering delightful and pleads with the spirit to stay until the very end of the festivities. As the day passes, the spirit ages, becoming noticeably older. Toward the end of the day, he shows Scrooge two starved children, Ignorance and Want, living under his coat. He vanishes instantly as Scrooge notices a dark, hooded figure coming toward him.
The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come leads Scrooge through a sequence of mysterious scenes relating to an unnamed man’s recent death. Scrooge sees businessmen discussing the dead man’s riches, some vagabonds trading his personal effects for cash, and a poor couple expressing relief at the death of their unforgiving creditor. Scrooge, anxious to learn the lesson of his latest visitor, begs to know the name of the dead man. After pleading with the ghost, Scrooge finds himself in a churchyard, the spirit pointing to a grave. Scrooge looks at the headstone and is shocked to read his own name. He desperately implores the spirit to alter his fate, promising to renounce his insensitive, avaricious ways and to honor Christmas with all his heart. Whoosh! He suddenly finds himself safely tucked in his bed.
Overwhelmed with joy by the chance to redeem himself and grateful that he has been returned to Christmas Day, Scrooge rushes out onto the street hoping to share his newfound Christmas spirit. He sends a giant Christmas turkey to the Cratchit house and attends Fred’s party, to the stifled surprise of the other guests. As the years go by, he holds true to his promise and honors Christmas with all his heart: he treats Tiny Tim as if he were his own child, provides lavish gifts for the poor, and treats his fellow human beings with kindness, generosity, and warmth.

“ROUSH , should stick with Ford ,build what you know.”

i think Ford working with G.M. is a good thing. we need the big three to help each other to compete with toyota and other compition, but thats just my $.02

chevrolet all the way!

isn’t Roush a seperate company from Ford? Correct me if I’m wrong, because I haven’t looked into Roush too much and quite frankley and I don’t care enough to look into them because all they do is Ford. But if I’m right, then Ford wouldn’t actually be working with GM or helping them. I think they’re like Lingenfelter (who also supplies the Dodge Viper), and Saleen where they modify a GM, Ford, or Dodge car and then send it back to the manufacturer for their sales. However, if the buyer takes their vehicle in to be tuned by the seperate company, the manufacturer doesn’t see any of those earnings. So Roush doesn’t have to stay with Ford, and they could just as easily go with Dodge rather than GM if they wanted to, along with Saleen and Lingenfelter. I think it just boils down to their loyalty to certain manufacturers and their reputation and base their success on that. cuz who honestly wants to see GM pick up a company that Ford (figuratively our enemy) has been with for so long. Thats like mixing different blood types together. People might not buy into that.

WTF Chevy1990.

Chevrolet needs no help from ford and certainly no help from Dodge. All dodge’s help would do is create a crappy vehicle. Ford and Chevrolet are both better than Toyota and other companies you are speaking of. Traitor.

i don’t think that chevy needs any help at all. I recently bought a 2007 Silverado and im completely happy with both style and performance. They need to leave best in the business alone.

Jan 28 2008, 07:42 PM

did u guys hear about gm giving out buyout packages to its employees to hire cheaper labor workers what do you guys think i think its a bad move

Jan 29 2008, 06:04 PM

Personally, I think CHEVROLET needs to put a higher output engine in their SS pick-up. Maybe go with something like the 650hp. ZR1 corvette engine. I think that would make a statement for the SS family. As far as the work truck series goes, I would relay like to see something like a crew cab long bed with a real 8.0 DURAMAX engine. Unlike the want to be 8.0 that toyota is claiming to have in their concept one ton dually. Also, I would like to see the new Chevy dually with at least 20″ wheels instead of the 16″. I think that the wheels are to small for these new big body’s. Other than that, I am a die hard Chevy man. My 1990 SILVERADO has almost 300,000 miles on the same motor with nothing but tuneups and oil changes and it will still smoke the tires. GOTTA LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Feb 13 2008, 07:29 PM

yea i i’ma go with FAT CAT they should put a ZR1 motor in the SS what was chevy thinking when they decided to put t a 6.0 in the SS…..theres noway it keep up with the 8.3 in the srt–10 with 500 hp but i still would take chevy over a dodge any day

Mar 04 2008, 08:14 PM

i will take the 6.2 sierra denali any day over any of the above …..twin turbo anyone?

Mar 10 2008, 08:31 AM

well heres what it all boils down to. you dont see roush racing driving chevy’s, right? so why should chevy let roush put some bs body kit on a great truck then ruin it by adding a roush sticker on the window.
n e ways i truely think this picture and all other claims to be bs, roush wouldn’t work on a chevy. he’s paid too well by ford……

Mar 10 2008, 07:09 PM

gm already has a real nice sport truck its called the sierra denali ok so mabey the marketing is all wrong because its a “lux” truck but a chevy version with 69 Baldwin motion stripes ss badges a hd hood and its ready to go

Apr 16 2008, 01:23 PM

It’s official roush is going to be building chevys
