GM cutting back on PR budget, NASCAR getting slashed

GM has said to be cutting back on its motorsports with NASCAR getting a big hit of almost 120 - 140 million yearly cut.

Remember the days when it was very obvious which was a Chevy and which was a Ford? It helped to bring brand loyalty but that has drastically changed. Some really good points are brought up as to really what are the car manufacturers getting out of this nowadays? Is the emphasis place more now on the other sponsors that are stickered on the car instead of the manufacturer?

I admit I have never been a huge NASCAR fan at all so my opinion might be biased but I also feel the same way about drag racing which I absolutely love!
