I'm getting rid of the Gibson single-in/single-out, sideswept exhaust on my 5.3L Avalanche as the resonance between 1600-2200 rpm is unacceptable. I'm looking for a quiet performance exhaust and have narrowed it down to the Flowmaster 70 series or Dynomax Super Turbo. I will be getting the new muffler welded in at the Gibson flange pipe and getting custom-bent tailpipes.
The Flowmaster 530722 muffler is a 3-inch single-in, 2 1/4-inch dual-out.
The Dynomax 17789 muffler is a 3-inch single-in, 3-inch single-out.
Does anyone have experience with either of these two mufflers and can you offer any feedback?

So the muffler just dumps into the air, no tailpipes out of it? And it's still quiet at idle? Interesting!
What about performance - any noticeable performance difference?
Please post sound clips if possible....thanks!

well I havent been able to get sound clips quite yet.. :D
as far as performance goes... i honestly would say i may have a lost a tad of low end, but thats it, it will still roast the tires :head:
yeah, its quiet at idle, you can barely hear it, then when you get on it, its sound nice and clean, and as far as mileage goes, I dunno yet, we'll have to see... with my old DF40, it actually got better, so i was hopin this would do the same, but time will tell... i'll try to get sound clips asap... later
