Okay, this is not my last post on this topic, but I had to get it out there for anyone who might be interested in the Bullets. My next post will have some pics and hopefully a sound clip.
I have the 8.1 Big block. I recently bought two 12 inch bullets from summit racing for a cool price of 45 bucks a piece to my door. I cut off my quiet, restrictive dual in dual out flowmaster, I think it was a 70 series, and replaced the gap with my two Bullets. Of course it took a little extra pipe to fill in the gap thanks to the 24 inch flowmaster. After the Bullets, I left the Factory tail pipe the starts out as a dual, but "Y"s into a 3 inch single and exits at a 45 behind the passenger rear tire.
The sound is INCREDIBLE!! I have NO interior resonance, at least no more than the flowmaster, and let me tell you, it howls when I let all them ponies run free! It doesnt cackle at all untill I hit about 3 grand on the tach, but even then it's a good cackle. almost a hot rod style sound. Whats even better, is I am getting better gas mileage than before.
I have not lost ANY low end power but have in fact GAINED quite a bit in the mid range. The true testiment to this is that my girlfriend sitting in the passenger seat said out of the blue...This think has some more kick now doesnt it!!!!!!! Hell yeah. You know it's true if the dumb blonde next to you tells you it's performing better.
In closing, if anybody out there wants to get a new exhuast that will sound loud and great, doesnt want to hurt MPG, and gain some more flow and power, BULLETS are the way to go!!! I will never spend my money on a muffler again after these things. I love 'em!! :head: :head: :head:
