I've been looking way down the road at future upgrades and a new camshaft came to mind. I was looking at the comp xtreme 4x4 cam and it says it offers huge torque throughout the rpm range. If I were to get this cam and put it in a TBI 350 with headers and true duals, custom chip, and modify the TB (spacer, shave the ridges off), how much rear wheel HP and Torque would this setup make? This would still be with stock heads and intake manifold. I know you guys say they are junk but the way I see it, if it isn't broke or leaking then why mess with it and take the chance of it breaking or leaking. I'm lookin for lots of torque on the low and midrange. Eventually I want to get a lift and 33's. With the stock 3.73 gears I want all the torque I can get with the least amount of work and money. One other thing, my truck is a 2wd.

You must remove the intake manifold to swap the cam. If you don't think the heads are "broken".... put them on a flowbench. You will change your mind very quickly.
You will see a small gain by installing the cam alone. Maybe 20rwhp, with everything else you listed.

cam alone swap no tuning i got 12rwhp and 40rwtq , after tuning
26rwhp and 60rwtq gain @ rear wheels. this was the crane 119815
roller cam.
no headers, no DUALS, stock TBI and fuel pressure. (SIG)
id only consider a cam swap if you are looking for lowend torque
since the peak is 2400rpm.

I found the extreme 4x4 to be extremely noisy I am sure there are better choices. Other mechanics have had reliability problems with the line.

If I have to go to all the trouble and the extra cost for new heads, I think I'll just wait and eventually build up a 383 stroker and just leave the internals of my stock engine alone. 12 rwhp doesn't sound like much of a gain to me. Maybe I'm expecting to much.
