just wondering if the bowtie on chevy grills comes off, thinking of painting mine or getting a chrome one if possible.
Yup, 2 speed nuts on the back.

You have to pull the grill shell to get to the screws.
Let us know if you need directions.

pull the shell. i think the shell has somewhere around 7 or 8 screws. one behind each blinker, two on the very top when you ppen your hood on each side, and one in the middle. i cant remember if there are others or not.
then just undo your bowtie, prep and paint:D

1. Remove both lower parking lights
2. Remove the four screw across the upper grill and the one in the center of the grill
3. Reach in where the parking lights go and gently pull up on the tabs on each side.
4. Lean the grill forward a bit and reach down inside and release the center tab...pull grill away from the vehicle.

Actually, I don't think I have ever seen a chrome one...all the ones I have seen including the ones on my two rides above are billet aluminum.

I'm running a factory bowtie from a tahoe sport. Black with a red outline.

on mine I only had to take one plastic piece off to get to the two nuts but I am kickin it New Body Style.
I painted mine black. I will probably get a chrome later on if I black out the front.
