corvette temp

How hot should the temp gauge be reading while under normal driving conditions? I sat in my friends vette and it read almost 280, and i know damn well it shouldbnt be that high. its the 5.7 lt1 i think, not for sure. im guessing a 95or 96 model vette.

LT1s first appeared in '92 in the C4 I believe.

Perhaps the cooling fans weren't on or the coolant is low.

Or the sender/gauge does not work...

aluminum...hot? :think: probably and LT1 iron block, they'd normally run hotter than an aluminum lsx
