Any suggestions? :help: Seems to be a lot of noise on the new SPE programmer! Where is the best place for FSC members to buy the SPE programmer? I found it online for $343 shipped, which seems like a good price if its as good as Airdeano & wkdspd say it is.....Hopefully I can get a better deal through wkdspd! :read:

Although a lot of people highly recommend SuperChips ($300 shipped) as well... :dunno:

No pushing Wester's, Nelson's or PCM4LESS, I have no desire to go that directions at this point. Just want a handheld......:luke:

Thanks for help guys.... :bye:

I got my SPE off of here on a GP for $300 i believe

can't remember who it is on here that sells it, but a good source of info about the proflash would be airdeano

His name is Skye and I need to order one too. He returned my call and I gotta call him back.

Just got to the site, get the number and ask for Skye.

i really like the proflash, took about 10 minutes to do the first time, but everytime afterwards it's gone a lot faster. i ran mine for a bit at 91 octane and all performance settings and the timing advanced +5 but it was really kililng the gas (back when gas was like close to $2.40/gal for regular 87, so i took it off for a bit. now i'm runnign the same setup but with 87 octane setting and it runs ptretty darn good.

you can buy the spe proflash from wkdspd (sky) who is a member here on fsc. ive got it for my truck and i love it. able to change from this to that in a matter of minutes and gains are pretty impressive.

Does the SPE remove any of the Torque Management? If so, how much will it remove?

I dont have it listed anywhere, but I do offer a standing discount on the Proflash to FSC.com members of $325 shipped. they are back-ordered right now as they go through a re-alignment, but should be available again very soon, so those of you that have been in contact with me Ill have them for you as soon as they can get them to me! as for torque management, there are several threads about it and what the tuners are doing to counteract, and I believe airdeano has a very informative post about it around here somewhere, but the gist of it is this - SPE removes a great deal of the torque management, as much is safe for the trannys in these trucks. its not completely removed as it would be very detrimental to driveline life, but they knock it back tremendously to pick up off-the-line and through-shift power.

snapper692 :)
I have had the Proflash for OBS and NBS trucks. On the OBS truck the TM was removed much more on the Proflash than it was on the Hypertech I had before the Proflash. Just got the one for the NBS truck and can't compare to any other hand held tuners b/c this is the only one.
But IMHO the Proflash is the most trouble free Handheld tuner on the market. I dont want the TOTAL ECM reflashed yet! And I like the ability to change settings in 10 minutes....just my .02...JohnB

Thanks for all the feedback! I'll eventually go for a westers or something, but for now I feel better with a handheld.....Not crazy about the $500+ price tag for the custom tunes either!

At this point im leaning towards either the Diablo or the SPE, no go on the superchips! I like how runningwiththedevil will work with you to custom tune your vehicle with the Diablo!! Thats a huge plus for me, but for all I know wkdspd might do the same thing for SPE. Actually, PCMforless is looking kind of apealing also!!! Brian's prices are WAY lower than Wester's or Nelsons!!! :moon:

Another big thing is availability....Im not a patient person! I can have the Diablo this week, possibly PCMforless, but the SPE's are currently unavaialble. I want to know how long it'll take to get the SPE before I decide.

wkdspd....I have cash in hand, any idea how long until the SPE is available??
