I finished lowering my dads ex-cab using my old flip kit but I dont have a carrier bearing spacer for it. Anyone have dimensions for one we can fab up? Thanks in advance.

I think that is was about 1"X2". I can measure it if you need to. Let me know.

It is 1" X 2" tube. Here is a photo of it. This brings up another question. At one time Doug said that he did not have to notch his cab for the drive shaft. How did that happen?

It looks like Toolman's spacer has holes to mount the spacer for a 1 inch or a 2 inch space.

i have a 2000 silverado ext cab and i think that is where alot of my vibrations are coming from because my pinion angle is good. any info about nbs with airride or lowered, also can this damage the driveline if i have been driving like this.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I am not sure why I went the way that I did. :dunno: I am sure that i went by the instructions. I have about 50K on the drop without any issues.

Uhhhh....you had to cut because you have it installed wrong. It is supposed to be laying down. :read:

The DJM spacer is actually 2 pieces. They are 3/8" flat stock as long as the bearing and about 1-1/2" wide w/ through holes in them.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I am pretty sure the instructions showed the process.

Why do you think those through holes are in there like that? I bet they line up w/ the holes in the bearing and crossmember if you flip it down flat.

Thanks Broly. Just to make sure, it needs to raise the bearing 3/4" or 3/8"?

Thanks Broly

No problemo, if you can find 3/4" stock.......use that instead of (2) 3/8" plates.

3/4 total, but the DJM kit has (2) 3/8" plates that need to be stacked.

DJM over and over again. However, that should'nt matter 6" on a X-cab is 6" no mater how you cut the cheese. :read:

Who cut the cheese? :thud:

The belltech is different I guess. They have a trans spacer and carrier bearing spacer. The instructions even had a template for the notch. I am not saying that it is not needed but it is what was included and what I did. :dunno:

If they use a trans spacer...........does'nt that change the degree/rake of the motor?

I will have to pull the instructions out one day. I put them away a few years ago with old files. :banghead:

I've seen what you are talking about.......if you raise the trans...you change the angle and I see no good reason to do so. :dunno:
