i did a search and a bunch of things came up for a different thermostat. but i was wondering specifically what the normal operating temp was on your trucks? after having mine sit at idle for a little while, the temp gauge still stayed towards the low side. is this normal? i just bought the truck, and i doubt the ppl i bought it from put a cooler running thermostat. :dunno:

My '02 ran at 200 when it was new. Now with 54k miles, it's always about 190.

OEM Thermostat for my 98 K1500 is 195, it may be the same rating for yours

I put a 160 degree thermostat in mine and it still runs at 190-200 range. Go figure.

I wouldn't worry about it. The stock gauges usually off, some more than others. Just know what your truck runs normally and if it changes from there, then question it.
