Ok, if it is a stupid question let me have it. I keep seeing people post abput the KP 6 links.

What is the difference between the 4 link and 6 links? And for the :assclown:s smart arse response I know it has 2 more links.:nutkick:

What are the benifits of a 6 link over the 4 link?

Thanks,

Izzy

It's a basic 4 link with a link that goes from the rearend to the rear hanger location and that's where the bag mounts.

They fit great and the ride is awesome.

Benefit is it's all mounted on the side of the rails so no need to mount the bag on the axle and it's all bolt on.

ok, so the other link allows the 4 link and 2 other links travel without binding against each other? Did that make sense?

The 2nd pic izz posted, the little bar pointing up (just to the right of the shock) is where the pivoting takes place between the 4 link and the canit attachment.

Thanks, I was thinking how could you have travel with bars from the front and back. How is the lift of these units?

If I recall right it's a 2:1 ratio with the bag location on the canti...great lift compared to a typical 4 link bag position....

Are'nt the 6 links bad known for bad "on the brakes" handling? Anotherwords, I heard they wannt rais the @ssend up hard and fast when on the brakes. :dunno:

Yeah, you would think w/ all the stored up energy in the bags while driving at normal speed. :dunno:

It Has Two More Links Tardo...

I haven't heard any issues with braking but I don't see it not being the same on a regular bag setup. The bag isn't gonna be any different back there then on the axle. The canti moves in the same arc as the 4 link, just like the front and rear portion of a leaf spring.

No thats a Reverse Tri 4 link that does that. From the change in the ARC of the travel i guess you would say. You dont have that problem with a parallel 4 link with a pan hard bar. The 2 rear link bars just lift they dont change the geometery, they just provide lift. Same thing as having a bag over the axle it's just providing lift.

the 4link controls your axle during braking. The canti attachment isnt solid to the frame, so it pivits. Its pretty much just like bags behind the axle. Your 4link controls traction, and the canti only provides lift.

Stick with the static drops.... BAGS are too confusing for you..lol :middle:

I know my truck handles worlds better than it did with a 4/6 static drop. It stops way quicker ( I think its mostly the tires), hooks up nice, and rides great.

I have the 6-link with firestone bags. It will lay on the ground if/when I put a step notch in it, right now it just has a DJM c-notch, and is resting on the inner fenders up front. Thats the pic on my sig. Here is one aired all they way up when I had the shockwaves

How come you switched out the shockwaves?

because Im an idiot

So you preferred the shockwaves? I'm thinking of going that route cause i have a fondness for the twisties. What differences have you noticed using both setups?

Shockwaves handled amazingly well and were super easy to install. The slams/monroe shocks combo rides nicer by a bit, but doesnt feel as solid. I switched because I was entertaing the idea of actually laying out the front but now Im not sure I want to do it again.
