I'd like to drop my truck without major modification so I'm looking into a 2/4 or 3/5 drop for my truck. I would go lower but can't afford too much downtime and don't wanna hack up the truck cause I drive it a lot!

I'll probably go with new DJM coils & Doestch tech(sp?) shocks on the front for the performance aspect and a tighter feel. But not too rough of a ride..

It's the rear that scratching my head about. I already have 2" drop shackles installed because I wanted to lose the rake.

I was considering just getting 2" hangers, but I know they are a little of a pain to install. Do I really have to take the bed off?

I'm also looking into drop leafs but I know they can give a really bad ride as well as take away some of the load carrying-capacity.

There's so much out there it's pretty confusing, someone care to enlighten me a little?

I've also heard about issues with driveline alignment and some modifications required in that area, should I worry? And if need be, what will I need to do?

Oh I don't know...I don't think you lose THAT much load capacity with a drop spring. Here is a 3/5 drop using a 4" drop leaf spring and a 1" shackle. And the ride can be jus fine if you use the right shocks.

LOL! Not bad! I guess that changes my mind about the drop leaves.

I'm not sure what my shackles are but they were put on at the GM dealer when it was new. I think they're 2".

Yea, He forgot to mention it's sitting on the bumpstops with that load of wood. I had a 95 Chevy with a 4" drop and I could haul a ton of crap. I filled the box up completely with shingles and once it's on the bumpstops you are all set.

hehe, i was gonna say that too. There's NO WAY that truck is not sitting on the bumpstops. Only way is if he's got helper bags and they're fully aired up.
