yeah i'm positive its 3.42 gear. the brake hardware was toast, it was thrown away. the drums do come with the axle though. they have been machined.

this should be a direct bolt-in for any 88-98. i did forget to mention, i dont believe it has any shock mounts on it. what i did on mine... is i got 4 of these little suckers: http://www.aa-mfg.com/pdshop/shop/item.asp?itemid=487 and welded em on. they give me more ground clearance than the stockers. it shouldnt cost more than 20 bucks or so to have a welder weld the tabs on. its real easy.

Cool man, Yeah I'm interested in it. Would you be willing to ship or would it be easier to pick up or something. I live about 30 miles south of San Antonio. Oh yeah, i forgot to ask, was this axle from a 2wd or a 4wd?
Just curious how much do you think all the brake hardware would cost? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much this will cost in the end. But either way I would really like that axle, been looking for one of those for awhile. Thanks,
Sam

Check to see how wide the axle is. Becasue some were out of truck and others out of vans and the ones out of vans were narrow. I would check on the width.

we got a deer lease just north of tilden, and we pass right through pleasentville or whatever its called. we should be going within the next few weeks to bring back the project jeep (47 willy's cj-2a). we could drop off the axle on the way.

i will check on the width. i'm pretty sure it was out of a 4wd.

Not to jack a thread here but I have a ring and pinion from the same rearend. Its a gm part and has only 40k miles on it 3.42 ratio. This could be a match for someone buying this rear. $100 shipped

I am very interested. Could you send some pics?

Would you be willing to ship?

I think you could strap (old seat belts will work) it to a pallet and get it to freight/air transport terminals if there any are close by you?

A friend of mine works at an air transport company (can't remember which one) but I live close to where they all are located here in Tampa.

Let me know, Mike mike@chevynut.com
