I am looking at either 2-3 12" jlaudio w6v2, RE xxx, cdt euro sport subs (they seem to have a good sound quality, and they'd match my components http://www.cdtaudio.com/testreport_2.htm ). What should I go with? I imagine you guys would choose the jlaudio and the re's and maybe suggest some adire bramahas... I love how opinionated people are with car stereo

Well I listen to about everything from time to time... just depends the mood I am in. My budget.. I am open for pretty much anything. I mean it would be nice if I could be about a 1000 on subs and an amp, but I'm doubtful w/my tastes. Anyways depending on how I decide to make my enclosure will depends on if I get 2-3 subs to fit int he back of my 98 ext. cab . I am just going to take my back seat out. I was first thinking of a box that would hold 2-3 subs all the way across because I think it looks really clean, but then I am thinkin I might as well get a fiberglass enclosure and paint it. Lol, I'll most likely go with something like the picture below and vinyl it using 2 subs. If I do get a fiberglass enclosure I'll go 3 jsut to take up more space in the back so it looks more uniformed

If your budget is $1000 just for subs and amp, then you can easily get 3 IDQ12s and a DLS Ultimate A6 and run them at 1.33 ohms with no problems. PLUS you can even have some money left over to help with the fabrication supplies on your box.

Some other subs I would check out are ID IDMAX's, DLS UR* and Iridium series, eD Ov2 series.

For amps, DLS would be my first choice since your budget isn't too small. If on a tight budget (depends on your sub choice), eD makes some great amps. They are built very well, look great, put out more than the rated power, and have a 3yr warranty.

I was just saying it'd be nice to stay around a grand... price doesn't really matter

There are many ways to meet or beat your budget and get great equipment. Anything listed above will get you the best quality for that cash.
