i have a 92 chevy with a 5/7 drop, flip kit with 2" schackels in bad, my rear shocks have the shaft up " the skinny part that goes inside the shock" i was told that they are wrong and i need them install shaft down, is this right? will i get a lil better ride with them shaft down?

the wider part, or the dust shield should be at the top.

Some shocks are meant to be ran upside down but most shocks are not. It depends on what brand you have. Most of the time it's shiny side up.

since it isnt hard to change them, run them the other way to see if it rides better
The DT's go the same way, shaft side up. The shock will have a stamped note that says "this side down". :read:

ok so they should be installed right then? so does anyone else have problems with there back end being vary stiff in the rear, with a 5/8? is there anything i could do to make it ride a lil better? will it make a diff if i put the stock shackles back on? or maby just raise the back schackles up one notch so it would be a 1" drop and not a 2"?

5-8 is really close to the C notch...maybe you are bottoming out, is that the ride you're talking about.

well i have looked at the bump stops and there is no marks on them so i dont think i have hit them much if any, i do know when i hit a bump to hard i hit the pipes that go over the axle befor the cnotch, i dont know maby thats just the way the 5/8 rides stiff and not much travle.
