Im looking at fatmat deadner for my truck. Im trying to kill road noise more then anything.

Im going to put it inside the doors, firewall, floor and backwall.

How much roadnoise will this kill?

they say that a small gap in deadening will still let in 90% or so of the road noise. it will help, and work very well if you cover everything like recommended. as for low freq, it really knocks them down.

I just got the 100sq ft of Fatmat. I will let you know how it is in a week or so when I install it...

Somethings I noticed is that it is thinner that Dynamat Extreme, So it might not be as effective as Dynamat, but we'll see.. I'm just looking to quite down the interior a little since I put a flowmaster that dumps before the rear axle

Dont be afraid to pile that stuff on. If I were you guys, Id rip out the whole interior and put at least 2 layers on everything.

Also guys, if your OBSs have room, Id stuff some carpet padding or some of this stuff: http://www.foamfabbed.com/cgi-bin/foam/23:DSPF11.htm in those doors.

I used less than 50sq ft of the fat mat... went on easy. Seems to stick and is more plyable than Dynamat.. Seems to help out, but I only drove around the block..

The roller and utility knife that they give aren't the ones pictured.. They are cheap plastic ones that broke half way through... and the utility knife was broken when I opened the box... But I really didn't care about that..

I have 50sq ft left over if anyone is interested in buying it. $50, plus shipping

My doors have 4 cans of sprayable deadner in them already. The extended cab portion of my truck already had Rockford deadner in it from when I put the stealth box in. So that portion has 2-layers. And the portion over my exhuast I overlaped.. So that sort of has 2-layers.

I know you can get 100 ft of fatmat on ebay for like $130 or 100 ft of B-quiet for $200. Anyone know if the B-quiet is worth the extra $70?

Maybe a 5-6, but I haven't driven it enough to really tell. I think when I get it on the interstate will be the real test...

Also I am running a 40 series flowmaster which is pretty loud, which I like. It cut that down alittle, but I still need to drive it more to tell..

Well, Im not sure where to find this stuff, but my buddy used about 3 layers of this stuff called POLYKEN in his custom classic El Camino and it worked great! Its an industrial/building product for insulation, but it works just as good as DYNAMAT and at a fraction of the cost. It, like most others, comes in the form of a self adhesive roll w/ a foil side for heat protection. If you spend a few minutes w/ google, Im sure you can find it. I know when I get a chance to do my truck, this is the stuff Im gonna use.

is there any way you could talk to your buddy and fond out were to get it?

If you look up Jackson's Hardware in San Rafael, Ca... Get their number and give them a call. Ask them about their supply of POLYKEN. They can tell you about it and how much it is per roll. I dont know if its the cheapest product out there, but its definitely a lot cheaper than DYNAMAT or the rest of the stuff out there that you here about on these websites.
GOODLUCK!
