Why wont this work?

Why wont cat back systems for i think 94-98 work on an 88? Is it the hanger locations or is something in the way on the earlier models? thanks for the help

prolly the same reason that headers for a 95 wont work on a 98.

94-95 and 96-98 were different engine and exhaust configurations, so there is no way the 96-98 would work. I don't know why the 94-95 stuff wouldn't work though, its all TBI... unless they changed the routing of something. Is this 88 an OBS or a classic body style?

its an OBS. the exhaust routing looks like my 95 except the 88 is a long bed. so i dont know why it wouldnt work.

single cat on 88-95 and dual cats on 96-99 OBS

88-93 had o2 sensor in the exaust manifold 94-98 had them in the cat
