Arent the tweeters suppose to be as close to the mid as possible?

in theory, yes tweet closer to mid the better. but you can throw that theory out when you factor anything from a vehicle interior to the components themselves. to many things to factor in that's why most people do trial and error placements.

Ok.. thats what i thought.. I tried mine on the A pillar and i think they sounded best in the factory location (non bose) so thats where I put them..

I too would put them in the factory location by the speakers.

I got a set of 6.5 components that had 2 tweeters for each speaker. I left one on the Mid and the other at the top of door . It sounds amazing i was very impressed. They were Rockford fostgate.

Has anyone put their tweeter in the a pillar? how did it sound compared to having the tweet in the door? Also when your subs hit does it make your speedometer guage rattle? Is my needle loose maybe? Also how do you get the door panels from rattling? Thanks for the help!

my tweeters are in the a-pillars, my midranges are in the kickpanels, and my midbasses are in the door. sounds excellent. but im not so sure how it would sound if you didnt have the midranges bringing it all together. In a car youd be fine, but IMO in a fullsize truck i think itd sound like ass

use sound deadener in the doors to help with rattle, also check to make sure your window regulator and track are not loose they have a tendency to loosen up if you like it loud and put locktite on the bolts
