View Full Version : Need new Amplifier - Diamond or Soundstream

The Memphis 1000D is toast I think, so I need a new amp. Right now I'm running 2 Diamond M6MK2(D6) 12's in a custom ported box. I was thinking of the Diamond D61500.1 or maybe the Soundstream 1600.2 amplifier. I am looking for SPL and SQ, and also want an amplifier that doesnt draw a ridiculous amount of current causing me to get like 3 more batteries.

Agreed. We dropped Soundstream and picked up Diamond because we were having too many issues with soundstream equip.

alright guys.... so soundstream right? lol anyway I hear the D6 is just the right amount of watts...supposedly it runs at around 1800 watts at 1 ohm, which is enough to make the M6MK2s/D6s slam hard as hell, yet not blow them

Well if ur gonna pick up an older soundstream, they rock, I know bogeyboy had problems with his van gogh 1600.2, but mine just absolutly rocks. and if u can find a large rubicon, those are very nice

Riding home at night looking in the back seat and seeing a wierd face would scare the crap out of me. One reason I wouldnt own that SS amp :lol:
Haha, I actually think it looks kinda stupid.

I vote Diamond. Very nice amps. 1800 sounds about right for that amps real power.

those human reigns are ridiculously priced....they're a steal at $2499...retail is like $4k or something retarded like that....

i think your best bang for the buck is gonna be that diamond amp...plus itll match your D5 quite nicely...
