Ok, so technically this isnt for a FSC, its an S10, but its still GM. My sisters BF just got a 2000 midnight blue (good choice  but im biased ) ext cab 2wd S10. We are thinking a nice set of 18"s, tires and maybe a bit of a drop would be nice, but neither of us know much about that sort of thing. What drops are out there, and reasonable for a DD truck to fit some 18"s without a super lo-pro tire? What size tire (or what series) does he need to run to avoid wheel damage and a horrible ride? Also, who can recommend some nice, pretty simple and fairly inexpensive 18"s? Chrome or aluminum, doesnt matter. He wants to go for a nice clean look, nothing too flashy. Maybe boss 304s? I of course said pre-runner it, but being 17 and me being 19, neither of us really have the cash flow to support major mods for it.

you can get a 3/4drop w/some 40 series tires, maybe 45s. djm makes a 3/4 kit. coils/blocks i know several people running them.

Start here, they have some good prices on the parts you will need. DJM and Belltech both make quality products. Look for 2" drop spindles and/or 3" drop coils for the front. For the rear, you've typically placed your axle under the leafs and blocked it up for the lift. In this case your axle is already over the leaf springs ( I think ) so you leave it there and throw 4" blocks in to drop 'ir down. The more mass you get between the spring pack and the axle, the closer the frame reaches for the ground. Replace stock shocks with shorter length, higher valved shocks as well.
And as a rule of thumb, Intro Wheels are to die for.

 This i know :rocking: i wanted some 20x10 Moreno's for my truck on 40s but alas, $$ doesnt allow at this point. Intro's site was the first thing i showed him when he said he wanted to do wheels and tires. I will have some Intros eventually though, I have done some business with Bryan (IntroWheels) and he's a great guy to deal with, and the wheels are top notch.

PS: I told him he needed pentias

I just bought a s-10 a week ago for work , but it was lowered so I had to raise it back up ..... so I have a set of 3" belltec lowering springs for the front if your interested.

interesting, was it just dropped 3 in the front, how much would you want for them? he isnt sure that he wants to lower it but i think a good 2/3 or 1/2 would be cool, just level it a bit. he has the 4 banger, and i guess most drop springs do a 1/2" less drop for the 4cyl than the 6cyl. i will ask him.

My truck is a 4 cyl. also. I'm in no hurry to get rid of them so take your time and if you want them let me know I'll make you a good deal.
