Hello,

I am kinda new here and I just bought a Black 1992 GMC Sierra. It has the older chrome grill that looks really bad. Anyways, I would really like a new grill. I noticed that you need to do modifications to put on a newer grill but will a stock Black 454 SS grill replace mine?

If so, I am interested, will pay $100ish.

Thanks,
Joe

You can buy a repro sport grille from LMC for $89.95, and the bowtie emblem for $39.95. Seeing as LMC is usually somewhat higher-priced on things, you can probably find these parts cheaper elsewhere, just gotta look.

It should fit your 92 core support with no modifications, as 94 is when it changed. (and there's really not that much difference anyway.)

Yep, like I thought: reproduction black grille available from ckresto.com for $65; or you can get the OEM one for $140 .. your choice :)

Get the oem one from http://www.ckresto.com
It will bolt right on without any modification.

Will that grill bolt right on mine, I relize it is not OEM but Id rather not spend that much. I am also wondering about what color it will be, will it be almost the same color "Black" as my truck or will it be like a primer or something because there is also one for like $120 "1992-93 OE PAINT TO MATCH GRILLE "

Also, I do not know if I have "Composite" Headlights or not, I do know I have 1 solid head light like on the newer obs trucks, not the 2 side by side.

Thanks again!

By "composite headlamps" they mean the plastic lens headlamps that use halogen capsule bulbs, instead of glass ("sealed beam") style.

The black is most likely the color molded into the plastic, the grille probably has no paint on it. I could be wrong. Best to just call them up and ask.
