northplayer13

Ya tried that. Scrubbed that thing for 30 mins and it wont come off! lol

You can get a 3M eraser wheel to take care of the rest of that sierra badge.

oh and while youre at the autobody supply house get the stuff to buff that thing out...lol

another good thing i found useful when taking off my badges was heat it up a little bit with a heat gun or blow dryer and just use a little goo gone or the stuff to take off surfboard wax

Thanks for the help guys. Ya I know it needs to be buffed, but when you got to school 15 hours a week and work 40+ it gets hard to get stuff done. Especially when you have to plan your day around your gfs to make sure you can get to spend atleast 5 mins together a day.

And no thanks on the bags. I've got a set. I got more pictures this morning, i'll post them up here when I get out of school today.

They are on there
I have also got my regulator, my gauges, fittings, and bag brackets thanks to Larry at Innovative air he got me a set of KP cups for my 02 for 40 dollars shipped. Someone before had tack welded them in and realized they didn't work with droped control arms, so thats a very good deal for me. I'm actually now just wanting to get a compressor, and also get nitrogen, anyone got a compressor?

as long as the welder knows what he is doing it should be alright, have fun with it:fsc1:

My neighbor welds. He welded our fence together that goes around like 2 acres. So I'd say he knows what he's doing.

Welding together a fence and welding together a suspension system is 2 totally different things...

northplayer13
11-22-2005, 09:37 AM
Ya, but I also know where to weld the stuff, I can weld, but I'd rather him weld the stuff on for me. He's a certified welder. I know where everything lines up and how to hook everything on.

cajundragger
11-22-2005, 02:14 PM
yea, my little brother can weld, hes 11. So being able to lay a nice clean beed(sp?) is not the deal here, position is key, don't be affraid to put sum heafty tacs on everything and cycle the suspension before you do final welding...

I am going to test everything before we finish it all up. For sure gonna get the notch in and then the 4 link. Seems like everyone likes to doubt each other on this site...

wouldn't say doubt but we do worry because we are one of the few boards that look at the whole picture...

northplayer13
11-24-2005, 12:36 AM
Ya I'm glad everyone is worried. I'll hopefully have this thing done in a couple weeks, just waiting on my compressors to get here.

yes make sure to tack it in place and run it through the motions so you dont have to cut it out to move it

northplayer13
11-25-2005, 09:55 PM
OH for sure man. I've already talked to him, and we are going to do this as soon as my compressor gets in and when I get time off. Anyone know how long the bridge bars need to be? Also how long u think this will take to do it?

I'm workin on the pics. I'll have them up soon enough its kind of being a pain cause I can only work on this thing for like 2-3 hours at a time cause my buddy has to go to work or I do. Hopefully this thing will be done by christmas

northplayer13
12-26-2005, 11:30 PM
So we didn't work friday on because my friend has been doing stuff with is family for christmas.

We got the 4 link on and panhard bar on. Tomorrow we are gonna fully adjust it, and then we are going to put everything back on and get it all going again!

The bed is on and I hooked everything up just to make sure that it would all work. And it will! I've got to go buy a fitting tomorrow, and get my buddy to come over and help me finish it up, and I should have it all done.

Just for a refrence install the 4-link and get it adjusted before you install the notches. Looks good though

northplayer13
12-29-2005, 12:09 AM
See my buddy did the welding on it, and all the shops around here when I asked them questions they dicked around, so I got a little pissed off and just dealt with it. We've got the axle and **** almost perfectly lined up, I think its off by about 1/8th of an inch.

Aight guys a little update the trucked is bagged now. I'm just checking my valves and stuff for leaks, which I know one of them has a leak. I'll be getting more of it done tomorrow after work. Oh ya the reason the valves are leaking is because my dumbass didn't put teflon tape on them, put it on everything else though! Oh well i'll get it finished tomorrow.

who makes that notch? It doesn't look like the notch that SD sells. At least according to their dimensions on their website.

Thanks,
Chad

northplayer13
12-29-2005, 08:50 AM
It is there notch, but we cut down the ends of it because if we didn't we were going to have to cut through double layers on the frame and I know that wouldn't have been fun.

dante81_98
12-29-2005, 09:17 AM
is that the 10"? If so can you get me some dimensions from it. The dimensions they have on their site are for the 8" and the legs of the notch are almost straight down. They told me that the 10" is the same but just two inches taller. If you could get me the following dimensions that would be awsome.

Outside top
Inside top
Inside bottom
Outside bottom
Overall height

Thanks,
Chad

northplayer13
12-29-2005, 08:53 PM
I'll try to get those dimensions for you, i'm just having a really hard time on figuring how to stop my leaks and stuff right now.

I got the truck moved out, and was actually on the road with it today. It rode really freaking harsh though. I need shocks for the back and for the front badly.

whys the back up so far?

ur2hi
01-15-2006, 04:31 PM
looks good. but you are sitting pretty high in the rear. you have a 4 link and a notch, so what's keeping you from laying out?

northplayer13
01-26-2006, 10:05 AM
The reason why the back isn't laying is because of my shocks, and because of my tires rubbing fender lip.

red02chevy
01-26-2006, 02:32 PM
looks good. just need to get new shocks and tires it sounds like. what setup are you running in the front?

Do you have a better pic of your air lines in your bed? Are they just laying in there? If so I can get you some grommets that you can drill some hole in your bed and run the air line up through to your tank. That what I did to mine.

The front has Contitech 2600's and I'm not even sure what the cups are. I got them from larry at Innovative air, that he sold to a guy but they wont work with dropped arms, they only work with stock ones and thats what I have. I'm gonna trim the fender out as soon as I can get off of work long enough to do it. School 15 hours a week, work 50+. Hardly leaves enough time for sleep! I'll be back on here later on in the week.

it took awhile to do, but if you know what your doing at all then its not that bad. Make sure you do everything right the first time, take no short cuts, i need to redo some stuff on mine.
