i need a running motor that will work with a 87 gmc with an automatic. i am on a budget and i need it asap. thanks alot let me know what you have.

You might wanna put a better location than "EARTH" :) you'll get better replies; shipping engines isn't cheap. Best to find a local deal!

Also specific model of GMC you have and what engine was already in it would help, keep in mind if you're still running the computer in your 87 GMC you should replace it with the same type of engine or you're gonna have more work to do.

i didnt realize it said earth. im in big bend wisconsin, its a 350 in a suburban right now. thanks for letting me know about the computer.

OK, then the most direct swap for you would be a 350 from an 87 to 90 model truck/Suburban/Blazer etc. The connections for all the sensors, etc. would basically be the same. A 305 wouldn't be that different but you'll need to change the chip in your computer for one from a similar year model truck with a 305.

91 to 92 would be very similar, I think about the only difference is the connection on the TBI unit for the throttle position sensor (TPS), 93-95 will be different due to the ESC module, though any of this can be overcome by swapping all the related parts from your engine to the replacement and just using the long block from the replacement.

Good luck and hopefully with that info you can find an engine that will be an easy swap-in for you. Lots of these trucks out there so it shouldn't be that hard.

well i just found a 350 right by me for 400.00 good runner but needs exhaust manifolds which i have. its out of a 89 so it should work i hope. thanks for the info now i just have to get the swap done without finding more problems.
