I have a Clarion DXZ715 cd player and I bought a audio control epic 150 which is a 1/2 DIN size . Is there a dash kit that will allow me to mount it under my Clarion and keep it all in the factory location ? Sorry if this is a little confusing sounding . Any ideas are welcome as to how to mount this up . I attached a pic of what I'm talking about . It might be a little difficult to see .

does your truck have a true double din sized opening? If it doesnt it wont work without some custom dash work. Most GM vehicles have a special "GM sized" stereo. Its a larger design than the 1/2 din, but not quite double din sized which is what you need. If you have a double din size opening you could probably make some brackets yourself.

How can I tell if I have a special gm sized radio ?

You've got like a 1 1/2 DIN sized opening like all GM vehicles. It won't work unless you cut down inot your little cubby hole and do some custom work.:(

You head unit is single din and your EQ is 1/2 din? Then it should fit. you might have to square up the corners of the bezel to get it to work. as far as a "kit" your probably gonna have to fab something up.

Are you trying to put both of the little equalizer things in there? I don't think both of them will fit, but one should.

Would that one allow me to use my aftermarket cd player ? It looks like it would be used more for a factory head unit that you would be adding a EQ to .

I was wondering if someone could tell me how I can figure out which wire to use for a remote turn on lead (would like to do it correctly) ? The guy that installed my first amp used a terminal in the disturbution block (Big gray block with a couple of relays in it on the drivers side firewall ). I installed everything and the epic 150 wont turn off when I turn the key off . If someone knows another reason for this please let me know .

My head unit has a wire in the wire harness for a remote turn on. It is a light blue color but that might be just for sony?. Check your head unit owner manual to see if it has a wiring diagram.

pickupman thanks for the info . I have two blue wires left in the harness that are not connected to anything . I am wondering if one of them is the remote ? I checked my clarion's owners manuel and it had no info on the wires :( . Why did I have throw the bag for the wire harness out :to: :damnit: .
