It depends on how fast you want to go and how much time or money you want to put into it. If you have alot of time you can get away with alot more GREEN still in your pocket. If you have someone else do it, you GREEN vanishes faster.
That being said, I have run 15.5 @ 88.7 with a 2.42 second 60 foot time in the 1/4 with a 312 in a FULLSIZE van.
My best 1/8 time has been 9.89 @ 69.08 with headers/duals/clutch fan/ 2,000 converter/open element.
With cast manifolds/Cat Back Duals/electric fans/2,800 converter/factory van air cleaner, I have gone 9.96 @ 73.9 in the 1/8.
I ran it at the track Friday night and got one pass. I spun the tires all the way through 1st gear and got rubber going into 2nd as well.
I cut a horrid .931 R/T (I must have been asleep)
60' =2.42s (No traction)
330'=6.57s @ 57.4
660'=9.96s @ 73.9
1320'=15.5 @ 88.7

I might add that on a 400+ mile highway trip doing 75-80 it still averaged 18.5 MPG over thanksgiving.
I have a NOS 125 HP nitrous kit sitting in my garage if I ever get brave.
I also have a mild crane roller cam with almost the same specs as my current cam. Being much newer and roller, it should have much more bite to it. Especially in the low-midrange.
