youll have to take off every pully and turn them 180*
than change the bolt style 2....

j/m their is a auto-tensioner *****

just take it to someone and have them install it for u, if u know that it takes bolts and wutnot, then u should know about the belt

also ur probably gonna need the longer belt for the bigger style case alts

Get yourself a service manual.

Is this an alternator that is meant to replace the stock one? Or some universal deal?

if the casing are the same, it's an easy swap. couple of bolts and a quick connector on the harness. to take the tension off of the belt, a 3/8 drive ratchet on the tensioner makes it a breeze.

if it's not the same casing (as mine was not) then you will probably need a 1" or so longer belt.

Where did you buy it? Price? Do you have any pics? My T212 needs more juice.......the stocker can't cut it.

(Again) Where did you buy it and for how much $$$$$? I need a 200+ amper in a bad way. My headlights almost turn off.........

What was the idle output?

There are a few places you can find an alt. I just got mine (300amp alt.) from Dommincik Iraggi(not sure if his fisrt name is spelled right). Solid alts, great service, or theres excessive amperage. Also good products. You can also have your alt rebuilt, though I am more partial to a new alt all around, as I have had less probs with new than rebuilt/upgraded alts.

I think I paid $400 for mine, plus shipping. Well worth it in my opinion though, I'm even looking into getting a second one thrown on my 'hoe

I wont have any pics of it till I return to the states. But, assuming all goes well here, that will be in a matter of a week or two. As soon as I do get back, I will post some pics up though.

I have one of the excessive amperage 200 amp alts. My tahoe idles at 500/600 rpms....and the alt doesn't produce anything until it sees 700/800...so everytime it idles the voltage drops to 12 volts and drains right off the bat.

Anyone else have this issue....how can i fix it. I am pretty sure it already has the smallest pulley on it too.

You can grab a new alt, one that has a higher amperage output at idle. Or you can look into a second battery. Something lika a yellow top or one of its competitors. Also, make sure you did "the big 3" otherwise, your alt isnt going to be able to operate to its full potentiol.

Will an alt from a NBS fit on an OBS with little to no mods?
