Does anybody know if you can just add remote start to the factory system. i had a aftermarket system on my last 03 and hated it. so i was hopeing that i could just add to the factory.

Anybody know?

Thanks in advance!

short answer... no.

just shop around and see what other people think of their aftermarket ones. I personally have a compustar and hate it. I install scytek galaxy 2000rs all day every day at work though and they are great. another good one i've used is astrostart. both of them work in extreme cold temps.

Cant do it on the new ones because of the databus door locking system for the 03+ trucks. Just spend the money on a new one that works from more than 10 feet away like the factory remote.

I have a Clifford installed on my '00 silverado, No complaints!!! Start it every morning, while im brushing my teeth... Engine is warm, and heater is cranking by the time i get in the drivers seat. Paid $325, installed about 2 years ago, and not one problem since then. Just bought a '06 1500HD last week, and thats going to be the first upgrade, Definately worth the money!

Stand-alone, or added to factory keyless? Adding to factory is a waste.
