I know this is going to be hard but I think this is strongly needed.

I would like a full 100% write up on cleaning to detailing the body of a vehicle.

I want to know step 1 from spraying the car down to clay bar to do you dry up and down or in a circle. Ive seen some of yalls pictures on detailing and those are the guys im looking for here.

There are tons of very detailed write-ups around.

melncal has a good one on his website.

http://autopia-carcare.com/how-to.html has some good tips, but also has a good bit of self-promotion.

I will check them out, but I was hoping for more of a person from here that has done it on our trucks and can give a better insight to trouble spots that i should watch out for etc.

I've done different GM trucks and there isn't anything special (detailing-wise) to know about them. All the normal principles and techniques are the same.

I guess you could say that cleaning and dressing the wheel wells is especially important for the overall appearance of trucks since they're large and exposed.

There is nothing special I can think of for GM trucks...a full detail for me is the same no matter what kind of vehicle.

Here are some tips that I can think of:

-Use 2 buckets for washing (1 wash 1 rinse)

-Clean wheels and wheel wells first then wash paint -top to bottom finish with trim and bumpers.

-Clay after washing before drying to save time

-Any abrasive polish needs to be broken down for it to work...putting a polish on letting it haze and removing does NOTHING for the imperfections in the paint.

-Polish under good lighting to see the progress

-Tape off plastic trim with blue masking tape to prevent discoloration

-Use thin layers when waxing
