I have a 1990 truck with moon gauges w/ no tach.. I wanted to change to needle gauges so I bought a 1992 cluster from ebay, but it won't fit. the connectors are different. Can I make this cluster fit somehow ? or do I need a different year cluster?

Look in the Tech articles forum, the wiring diagrams and info that you need are there. I just put a '92 in my '90 last week, the install went great. Hats off to all of the guys who worked to make this mod possible.

Are you talking about the 94 cluster tech article? Where they install the DRAC and DIP switch? I wouldn't have to do all of that rewiring would I? The 92 cluster that I bought doesn't have a tach.

Yes, that is the article that I'm talking about. But in the Tech Articles forum it goes into more detail on what needs to be done in a '90. If your cluster is out of a '92 then yes, you will need to solder in a new cluster pigtail and DRAC, tach or no tach. However, if you happen to find a needle style cluster from a '91, tach or no tach, you will simply have to change a few wire positions in your pigtail, and run a tach wire if the new cluster is so equiped. I chose to use the '92 cluster with the DRAC because I liked the idea of being able to adjust my speedo for tire size changes. The wiring really isn't that bad if you use the right wiring diagram, only cut one wire at a time, and use heat shrink tubing. If you do choose to go the '92-'94 w/ DRAC route, a $10 desoldering iron from Radio Shack really helps out.

Do you know where I could find a wiring diagram for a 90 and 91 cluster? If you do Can you email it to me? I'd appreciate it.
