I got a 95 GMC C1500 with a 5.7L. I want to put on a set of pipes. Im do want'em to be loud, but i like that deep tone too. Im also on the cheap side. im in high school takin classes at the college so i have limited time to work but i do make the money when i work. Im thinkin flowmaster 40's straight out the back but i work at a boat dealership and pull boats a lot so i dont know how that will work. I aint scared of the cops cause i live next to a DA and i fix his boat all the time. So it dont really matter how illegal they are.

I am getting my 40's today. I don't know about your area, but expect to pay about $400 for system installed for a SI/DO Flowmaster 40 . As far as working at a boat dealership, if you do a lot of towing I would not get them straight out the back because they will blacken the boats with soot. I would get them angled out 45 degrees out the back or infront of the rear axle (if you like interior drone). I'll let you know what I think of mine tonight!

Bullets, hands down, or any of the tube type glasspacks. Super cheap, and not quiet by any means...

Edit: I gave $160 bucks for my complete true dual setup from basically the manifolds back. A 12" bullet is like $30 from summit, and most mufffler shops ought to have a few laying around, or at least something similar.

Werd on the bullets, but make sure they are actually bullets. I got screwed at the exhaust shop and they put on "red bullets" which turned out to be a really ****ty glasspack that sounded good for about 2 seconds. Now they rattle a lot and sound horrible. So be careful of those mufflers that are "just lying around".

Super 40's have a deeper tone than the standard 40's - around $79.00 each at Jegs. http://jegs.com
