just started paint

I just started sanding my 1986 chevy silverado's passenger door and have noticed it was a lot of bondo on it and also has about 6 diffrent layers of paint. this is my qustion would it be easyer to just sand blast the entire door? would it mess the metal?

Dont sand blast, media blasting (walnut shells/soda, etc) would be better.
Or just spend 5 minutes on it with an 8" air grinder and 36 grit.
