Yesterday I installed my new eprom from TBIchips.com, it's their "hot" chip for 305 TBI trucks. I also got rid of the awful 15X10 aftermarket wheels and P265/70-15's. I swapped on the factory sport wheels, similar to the 90'-93' 454 SS wheels. They are wrapped in Kuhmo P255/60-15 S/T tires.
The truck is getting a set of 2" spindles & some lower shackles in about two weeks. The parts are sitting here with me, just need to make the time to do the install.
It doesn't feel as much faster as I hoped it would. But, it idles MUCH better and runs a lot smoother with the hot chip. I'm going to keep my foot out of it and see how much my MPG goes up.
Does anyone have an idea of what a truck like mine ran stock? I'm guessing around 19-20 seconds in the 1/4. :(
The mods I do now are basically a "fix" until I can get my 350 rebuilt and in the truck.
