Yes after two months of waiting to get all the stuff i needed i finally installed my cam. The install was fairly easy considering i haven't done one in a ls1 style motor before, this thing pulls like a mother and once it gets in it's powerband at about 4,200rpm in pins you back i love it and i have yet to hit the nitrous on it yet, i am going out tonight to find me some camaros and mustangs to kill :ehcapt:

What's the LSA on that cam? I assume you had the tune updated for it? any problems idling?

Good work, dude! But, I hope the mail-order tune from W4M is tuned just right for that size cam or else it's not gonna be runing right. There should be alot of tuning to get that cam runin' in a 5.3L Most guys I 've seen runing the 224/224 cam get a dyno tune so it can be just right and you're alot bigger so you're lucky if the W4M is working. But good to hear you finally got it done. Get a vid of that beast,PRONTO!!!:D

What size stall are you runin'? Figured it should be fairly big to get all from that cam. That's for all up top than down low cam!

Awesome gains man, but I've heard people say that they notice a loss in low-end power when they get a cam installed on stock motors. Did you notice a shift from low-end power to high-end power, or all gains?

On cam's with a powerband of say...2500-6500, you'll want higher stall torque converter, like 3000RPM, to avoid losing your bottom end. Without the stall converter, you will lose lowend power.

With Peak torque at around 4,000 rpm all the LS1 style engines enjoy torque converters that stall around 2,800-3,200 rpm, even stock ones.

Are you sure about this ?

I have also been told just replacing valve springs on a 5.3 will net 10hp over the stock ones, any truth to that ?

Yes about the converter, and I wouldn't expect valve springs to gain you any hp.

IMO, that's too much cam for a 5.3L but if it works for you that kicks ass!! Hardend push rods are a must. With that cam you scrafice down low power but with a bigger stall you make for some of the power loss. With NOS, witch he already has, will make a big contribution to that cam. Your're gonna be flying,Mean05!!

Oh yeah i went out last night handed a 99 vette his a** hung with him on motor and on the bottle put bout 6 cars or more. I have noticed a difference in the low end obviously, but once it builds rpm which doesn't take to long with the gears it screams, i do plan on buying hptuner and having my friend tune it for me the wait4me is okay but not good enough i am running lean in both banks that will be fixed very soon i have no detonation even on the nos but i am throwing the 2 codes. I will be putting a yank 3200 stall in in the next month or so just have to get some money saved up for that. I ran a car last night that said he was running 8.2 in the 1/8th and i was barely but steadily pulling on him. Oh no this is not to much cam and of course i did hardened pushrods comp 918 springs 30lb injectors 180 thermostat titanium retainers. Jesse did a good enough tune for what i wanted i just needed it to be able to run okay and get me around cause this is my daily and i still get 13-14mpg around town unless of course there is a race then it goes to 11-12mpg. My low end on motor is worse but i just push a button and it gets better real quick. Sorry if i jumped around on my post just kept going back and reading the other ones :)

If you're going with a 3200 stall, I reccomend the Fuddle Racing torque converter. It's much cheaper than the yank and supposedly has a warranty that can't be beat. I was going to get the yank, but after hearing all the good feedback on Fuddle, it's the way to go. You should check it out:cool:
