I just put a 383 in my 94' K5 Blazer. I did a ton of research making my decision, and I bought my motor from Jasper in Indiana. It's a Class 2 383 for the TBI motor. It's rated @ 325hp and 425trq. It's a beast, it also came with the chip as well. I don't know what they're selling for now, but I felt it was a good deal. I also recommend doing headers, and electric fans. I average 12-13mpg in town with 3.73 gears.

What's a class 2 383?

12-13mpg, maybe I don't want to go stroker. What did you get when it was a 350?

IIRC, Jasper specs 454 injectors with that engine and the chip is setup for them. It is a really nice engine for the $$$.

estimated?? they say the 383 "325 hp (estimated) @ 5000 rpm
415 ft. lbs. Torque (estimated) @ 3600 rpm" huh?? these guys sponsor a nascar team.
theyve gotta have some dyno time
alotted for them...

arent these estimates for a stock tbi with 454 injectors and.. a stock intake ??If so- that's sweet.....still room for more horsepower if you upgrade to a 670 tbi and better intake.. maybe even a custom tune to tweak it all out..

I also want to add that I'm running the 454 injectors 65lbs? I was looking for the box they came in. As for the TBI, it's a stock unit. I also added a full MSD 6AL, as well. I got around 14.6 mpg with the 350 all around driving. I plan on doing a dyno run in August, I will post those numbers once that is done. As for the quality of the engine from Jasper, it has top shelf parts and the install went well. I don't regret the swap one bit.
