Not a bad job at all. I am really pleased with the result's. Little firmer ****s and a hole lot quicker. She just snaps right in gear.
Well worth the time and money ..

did you have Jesse update your tune?

Now I did not get the retune. Really the servos just complimented the tune imo. Shifted hard and kinda slow before . Hard and fast now . Just drops right into gear. I did get the kit with the longer rod so maybe that helps it some.

I'd call Jesse, You may need a retune.

It may just feel faster :D

I got them from Oregon Performace on ebay. I think the kit with the longer rod is 32.00 shiped to the door. No I dont think there are any dyno shops in Huntsvile but there is a good one in Decatur.

:word:

the full shift kit only took a tenth of my ET. But the shift kit did make a night and day difference in the 1st-2nd shift time(duration).

Just FYI, I didn't need the longer pin. Did you happen to check the clearance on the drum in the transmission, to make sure it wasn't too tight with the long pin?

I didn't get the longer pin either. Just swapped servos and put it back in and no problems. I still have inconsistant shift firmness but this tranny has always done that. Sometimes it almost barks 1 to 2 and other times is smoother then stock.

ok here a dumb question, is there 2 servos or is it just one servo?

There's an OD servo, but I'm not familiar with it. The vette servo is for 1st-2nd.

The OD servo is outside of the 1-2 servo. It's basically a bigger cover. I've done both, the corvette and billet OD servo. Shifts good and firm now

Not sure I would know how to check the clearence on the drum . It seems to work fine though. Drove about 150 miles today and no problems . How would one check the clearence on the drum?

There's a tool available from transtar to check the pin length. You'll wind up frying your band if you don't run the proper pin in it. A good rule of thumb is that GM assembled your transmission correctly, and you'll probably be OK with the factory pin.

A few local trans shops may also have the tool as well. You pop the servo out, bolt it to the trans, and put a wrench on it and put on a couple inch pounds of torque (can't remember the exact amount). It has a few dots that depending on it's configuration will tell you if you need a longer one, a shorter one, or if it's dead on.

Great now I have to do it all over again:dunno: .Would you be able to notice any diffrence in the way it shifts if the pin was to long? Is it something i should do today or do you guys think it can wait till this weekend? Its not that bad of a job but my time in the afternoons is limitied. Thanks guys .

When you drop the pan you'll see the filter and valve body, when you look up into the gut of the tranny you'll see a section of something looks to be a dark colored piece of large pipe. Stick a screw driver up in there and try to wiggle it from the front to rear of the transmission. If it wiggles, you should be ok, if it doesn't, you need to install the factory pin back into the vette servo and check it again. It seems like a lot of trouble, but you don't want to damage your tranny. Here's a pic of the Transgo instructions:cool:

by the way, pick up a universal drain plug kit for your transmission pan and install that while you've got the pan down. Take it from me, someone who dropped the pan 4 times when doing my shift kit, the drain plug will make things MUCH easier for you in the future:D

Thanks Colby. Yeah ill probly just check it tonight. I have synthic trany fluid so Ill have to go pick some up . i think my pan already has a drain plug not sure but i thouhg i saw one while i was under there. Kinda sucks because the website i bought them from kinda acts like you need the new pin. Wish I had asked about the pin here first I would have just used the old one. Thanks again.

No problem:D

I doubt you have a drain plug in the pan...unless a previous owner installed one. There is an indention in the pan that may resemble one, but no drain plug.

Just ckecked I do have one. I think I had them put one in when i had the tranny flushed. A few more questions . If i have a really clean jug its ok to reuse the fluid right? Do i need a knew pan gasket , and whats the procedure on tightning the pan bolts. Thanks again .

Do not reuse the fluid. Also the longer pin takes the place of the spacer rings in the transgo hd2 shift kit. Are you able to push the servo cover in at least a 16th of an inch? If so you are Okay. Especially after you drove more than 150 miles it would of burnt up your tranny if there was no clearance.

Yes the cover goes in atleast 1/16 . It was preaty easy to get the split ring in any way. So if the pin was to long i probly would not have been able to put the split ring in?

Thanks for taking the time to help me with this. If i can keep form going into again that would be great .

If the pin was too long you would not of been able to put the cover on or clearance would of been too tight to get the snap ring on to hold the cover.

I just checked and I still have atleast 1/16 of play in the cover. Very happy to find that out to . Thanks for all the help.
