What do you guys think of my interior upgrade.I did it to my 1992 gmc pickup .I bought the parts off ebay .The 95 bucket seats were originally cloth ,I found some leather backs and bottoms also picked up a pair of used 99 denali headrest. Found a leather jumpseat console. Pieced together door panels and parts from ebay.Put new carpet ,painted the cab panels, installed a 1998 center console on roof and cut down a gray headliner from a 1998 suburban .I still have to paint the dash and front pillars since they are still blue. But everything else is gray and looks like a 96 or 98 interior.

Look good, man, looking good, but is there anyway that you could change steering wheel from plain to airbag after putting 95+ dash in? is that possible to do that or so?

I heard you can put a 95+ steering wheel with or without airbag on the same column . I have all the dash pieces along with the steering wheeel. But I just need to make some time to do the conversion.I will be posting pics of my 92 k5 blazer that I did a escalade denali conversion on I am currently wiring up the 2000 denali door panels and making a custom trim piece to activate the dome light when you open and close the door since I still have the 92 dash.

You should be able to find a 95 non-airbag wheel. I believe airbags were standard after '96. Try lmctruck.com for a new one.

Interior looks great! I wanted do do that to my 94, but stopped at cloth seats.

I thought drivers airbags were standard in 95 but the passenger air bags didn't come til 96. Maybe I'm wrong but I just havent seen a non-airbag wheel for that interior. Do you have all the plastic pieces for the coloumn too??? Interior looks good

My '95 has a drivers side airbag but not a passenger. I think the passenger came about in '96.

The 97 and up come with the passenger air bag, and I haven't seen a 95 steering wheel without an airbag either.

Find a W/T model truck. They have the same column and no air bag. My work truck is a 2002 and has NO airbag and the same steering wheel.

Yep If you go that route get the compartment insert to to where the pass side airbag would go, the non airbag wheels had a smaller center section so they should be easy to spot.

Not possible, all trucks have airbags unless it's a 3500 or above (?)

is it possible to put airbags in a truck that does not already have them?

sorry :jacked:

there is much more to the system than the actual airbag. So I will go with a solid no.

Hey man, looks great. Question, I have a 92 full size blazer and am wanting to replace the driver's seat with newer ones like you did. Do the newer seats just bolt on the 92 seat brackets or do you have to change things under the seat?

bknyaic

They Bolt right In!The brackets for the newer seats 95 to 98 will line up with the holes in the floor of your 92.

How did you get the overhead console to hook up?

so the seats bolt right up, what other interior parts from newer trucks fit right in? ive got a 92 also, and my interior REALLY needs some bling, lol

Yes the seats will bolt right in if you have the stock 92 buckets, but if you have a bench seat you will have to drill 2 holes for each seat for the bracket near the hump.

You would have to cut a hole in the headliner because the center top console has plastic tabs that slide under the headliner and one screw in the front to secure it to roof.It is a very easy upgrade ,you will be able to see how easy it is when you get a center console.

all the interior trim panels fit right in.the only thing is the door panels you would have to get the inside panel from a 95 to 98 truck for the newer panels to go onto. Also the seats if you have buckets and a console now, the newer seats and console will fit.I had a bench seat so I had to drill 2 holes for each seat for the bracket near the hump and drill 4 holes for the center jump seat/console.

I didnt take any pictures ,but it is very easy to do.The overhead console was very easy to install you just need to cut your headliner so the holding tabs slide under it and 1 screw in the front to the roof.

On the OBS trucks all 95-up 1500s had the driver's airbag. The 8-lug 2500s and the 3500s did not. It has nothing to do with trim level.
Pasenger airbags came out in 97.
The driver's bag was switched to the small center in 98. The non-airbag wheel looks a lot like the 95-97 wheel, but it is actually slightly larger diameter.

ya ive got the stock bucket/console setup, so the seats are out of a 95? is the console also out of a 95? is the leather on the seats just a cover or something, i would love to have leather seats. also did you get the seats and console off ebay? sorry for asking so many questions, but i really like your interior and the fact that its the same year as mine gives me inspiration:aniteef:

The steering column also does not just bolt in. The inner door skin has to be replaced with a newer one and trim some sheet metal to make it sit flat near the handle or else the panel sits a little funky. Oh and the computer box may need to be moved an inch or so for the new style glove box. The older trucks also did not have the a pillar grab handle which you need to weld on two nuts or put tweeters or something there.
