Alright, I have been pondering on how I want to do the sub setup in my Tahoe. I don't want or need anything crazy just need a little bass to go with my tunes. I do not want to put a box in the cargo area if I don't have to. So, I was looking at one of these:

How would the sound quality be with one of those crammed underneath the rear seat? Would an 8" deliver a decent amount of bass? If it won't sound good I will just deal with having a box in the back.
Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

i'd put one in the rear drivers side corner where they go factory. get a box from Qlogic or even a factory box from a junk yard. mod it for an 8". treo ssi 8 fit's in tiny space and doesn't have much mounting depth. only needs like .3 of a cube.

:word: on the factory spot!
If you're not wanting to wake up the neighborhood, then this will be the best looking option, IMO. Plus, you lose no space whatsoever... unless you like to cram stuff in your body panels!

I put 2 12's in my NBS Tahoe. I know you don't want to use the cargo area, but I did. You can put the amp under the rear seat. Build a sealed enclosure the width of the truck, just deep enough to mount your subs, and figure out what height based on the specs of the subs. My box ended up 48" wide, 17.5" tall, and only 9.5" deep. So, I get the sound of 2 12's and only lose 9.5" of cargo room. Put some good grills on the subs and you don't have to worry about still hauling stuff.

for OBS they also make boxes that go in the rear doors if you have "barn doors"...

^^^^
That'd be a great idea if you love hearing rattling doors, glass, and everything else.

That's why we deaden! I know you can't get 100% of rattles out whenever you put a big enough sub in the doors, but you can knock down a huge amount of it!

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I had thought about doing the sub in that back side ever since I saw the one they did on Overhaulin last year and I liked how that looked. I've got the tailgate in the back so no go on the qlogic enclosure for the rear doors.
What kind of rattling would I see if I put the sub in the back storage area? It would piss me off to put the sub in there and then have to listen to stuff rattling whenever I listen to music. I already have rammmat all the way through the Tahoe so I would hope that would help lessen the rattles.

The problem with putting subs in the cargo doors is that those cargo doors are one of the biggest rattling problems on the fullsize GM SUVs. Putting the subs IN those doors means that they are receiving the maximum amount of vibration and energy transfer possible from the subs. I'm sure it's possible to deaden them enough to get them to stop rattling with this setup, but it'll be tough and time consuming - that's for sure!
