If you are a basshead, you might need to.
If it were me, i would do something inside the cab before cutting the bed.
Its alot eaiser to remove an enclosure, its alot harder to reweld metal back in place.
Do you have bucket or bench seats ?

I hear that its a bad idea for a few reasons: Resale value is gone after you do it, cab noise level raises, and many competitions dont allow use of blowthroughs for competition.

I'll probably do it one day to my RC. It's got over 240K on the clock, so resale is squat anyway... I don't/won't be competing... If done correctly, cab noises should be able to be maintained. Plus, how many RC's do you know of boasting twin 15"s?

With buckets you can build a center console to house your subs, what were you thinking about putting in the bed to blow through?

Unless you plan on competing or showing the vehicle it is not worthwhile, build a ported custom console if you want a huge amount of bass in a RC.

i plan on 2 15's or maybe 4 12's but more likely 2 15's

2 good 12's in a ported and a couple kw, you can get super loud with out the hack.

but if you cut, all i can say is make it worth your while. i might part with my 15's if you want something super nutty. i'm thinking to down size to 12's with less power. i kept adding power until it made my ears bleed. so i took them out and they've been sitting ever since.

i have a cut in mine.

Or...u could get an avalanche,lolj/k If you were to do it, intall a fiberglass bed cover and cut it out under the rear window. That way, from the outside, it looks normal and not all hacked up.

This is a shop in Fresno, CA. They've done quite a few "blow thrus."

Seen that one before, it really looks like A LOT of work. The big screen molded into the dash is sweet as well.
