I tried searching to find out what size turbo is best suited for my 1996 2dr tahoe.I am not new to this,I use to have a bmw 328 that had a t3/t4 turbo 50/.63 that made 347hp. This was good for my 1st project. Now I wanted to create my own hodrod street truck. What is a good size turbo for this project?
I need help from the turbo gods.
thanks in advance:cheer:

Is this a 5.7 (350 cid) Vortec engine? If so, what hp are you wanting to achieve? These particular engines have a limited fuel injection system.

Yes a 5.7 Looking to see 400hp and above. If the fuel is a problem how about 42lb injectors and a secondary fuel pump(walbro) maybe

The stock injectors on the 5.7 vortec are located inside the intake manifold. Yes, inside the intake. These injectors are an assembly of eight, which are not upgradable. A few people on FSC have swapped over to the GM Marine intake for the L31. This intake is a fully cast intake with upgradable external injectors. It is a bit pricey, but not real bad. I have thought about a remote turbo for my L31. If I decide to go this route, I will probably use an auxillary injector to add fuel during boost.

You could just get a supercharger. They seem to work best on the vortec engines. Well, for that matter...V8 engines. Several supercharger setups offer a lot more power then turbo setups for the 5.7L. Just my observation.
