Hey how difficult and how long would it take to remove the main dash from a 98? I was gonna get some stuff painted this winter but now that I accidentally took some of the finish off my dash i'm thinking about doing it all. I'd sand the parts myself but I'd have the shop remove the main dash since I'd end up breaking it and getting mad haha.

How many hours roughly for removal and how much to paint if its pre sanded for them? thanks

Removing the dash will only about 20-30 minutes for a quallified individual, and a little longer, say an hour to reinstall.

As far as the refinishing goes, no clue.

I know the sanding will take me like six yrs hehe but if the shop only charges 1hr labor for removal or something that wouldn't be as bad as I thought.

I'm not sure what they are gonna charge you, but I know how long it takes.

Something to consider, while the dash is out being refinished, is your truck going to be occuping their service bay? That could be costly.

You may be better off going to a body shop or upolstry shop that does interior refinishing and let them handle the whole deal.

yeah even if it only takes them an hour expect to pay alot more labor then an hour.
