i just recieved my spe proflash from sky(thanks by the way for the extra shipping that you didn't charge me for:clap: )and i started messing with the different programs, and it seems to me like the truck runs stronger on the rv/tow setting with all the parameters set to performance rather than the performance setting with all the parameters set to performance.i haven't tried the +5ping yet but was going to later.also do you have to take out all those fuses everytime you program the vehicle, cuz its getting kind of aggrevating:whacko: .
thanks guys

The performance setting is a little better for the top end but for everyday driving rv/tow is the best. I think i told you so j/k
Try the economy tune and keep your foot off the gas for better gas milage. And yes every time take the fuses out to change tune, to clear codes no need to remove.

yea i know you told,it was just that on their website it said the performance tune gives it even more acceleration.also i always get a check engine light after i program, and when i check the code its a c706 or a c1706 or somthing like that.it always clears and doesn't come back, just curious as to what it might be.
thanks guys.

DTC c1406 and "reduced power mode" will always occur after PCM
programming as the computer closes network conncetions to the
fly-by-wire (ETC) system. clearing the code re-establishes this
communication link.
the fuse pulls are for your protection. this step is to ensure
the computer and the programmer are the only online
communications open on the network. failure can allow the PCM
not to receive all of it programming. and when that happens
no start. return to stock and start again.
yes, PITA... but beats a tow bill....

hey Charles - got ur message, been real busy, sorry I havent had a minute to call you back. I mentioned it a little in our conversation the other day, but what ur seeing is pretty normal for trucks - the performance setting will give you a stronger top-end for track passes, while the tow/rv mode will create more torque for everyday cruising around and getting that heavy truck moving off the line - this translates to a stronger "feel" on the street. try it both ways, tune it the way feels best to you, thats the added benefit of a high-end handheld tuner! :D
