Got some JL components I want to put in today, but i cant figure out how to take off the door panel. Im a pro at taking off door panels without power windows, but I cant seem to get mine off. Can anybody help me out?

The switch panel should just pop out and then disconnect it. Remove the two screws holding the handle in. The rest of the panel just pops off. You might have to pull the sail panel but it just pops off, too. You will probably snap a couple of the fasteners so I recommend having some on hand just in case. Pull the panle away from the door, disconnect the courtesy light and lift it off. It is really quite simple. Hope this helps.

I break at least one fastener every time I take my panels off. I bought a bag full of them at a swap meet, so I'm all set for a while.

also, use a small screwdriver and remove the trim around the door handle area. other than that its only the 2 scewrs in the grab handle area and thewindow switch panel. to remove switch panel, grab the back of it and pull straight up.after it comes up, slide it to the rear to remove it.

I got mine at the dealer but I think you should be able to get them at any parts store.

BTW 2dr....when you pull the switch panel look under the little grille on the front of it. I think this would be an excellent spot to mount some tweeters. Let me know what you think!:rocking:

I went and bought some from the dealer this week. I got 5 of em for 4bucks. (.75cents each) I figured that was a okay price from the dealer, even though they should make it free.:bawl:

If you aren't sure what I mean you will understand when you pull the door panel.

I got the one piece. either one will work, but when you pull your panel it will probably have a two piece. hard to explain, but you will see what I mean.

What do you mean by one piece fasteners? I need to replace several on my '96 passenger panel.

I got the low level stero and mine did not have a tweeter in that location. When I updated the stereo that is where I mounted them. :rocking:
