I just got my truck back from the dealer after they were trying to fix my seats. If you guys remember, they would make creaking sounds or a cracking sound when going over bumps, train tracks, turning, etc. The dealer went for a ride with me to find out what my complaint was. The interior trim tech was the guy that went on the ride. He determined that the noises were coming from the seat actuators. They replaced both front seat actuators and it seems to have cured the noisy seats. Since I've seen posts by others about the same sounds, I thought I'd share the possible fix to the problem. I'll let you know if they remain quiet.

I have had the same problem, however it sounds more like a thud than a creaking sound. I only noticed it after I installed my Westin nerf bars, although I had them tightened with a torque wrench.

Did your bars install using the body-mounting bolts? My neighbor's bars did, and i could see that if the angle of the dangle was not right, it could allow the body to move around and creak. So maybe something is hosed? My neighbor's kept trying to get cross-threaded, if one of yours got cross-threaded then maybe it didn't draw the bolt up tight? Just thinking out loud.

The dealer didn't have any issues doing the work. I have taken the truck in 2x for this and they say they can't hear it. This time, I had the trim tech go with me. I had him sit in the back seat while I was driving. He was able to hear it then. He just decided then and there to order new actuators.
I'm not sure that this fixed the pop sound in my seats. I was driving today and can still hear it slightly. It wasn't doing it until this afternoon. It's also not as bad as it was, so taking the seat apart obviously was something.
I don't think we're talking about the same sound. My sound is definately coming from the seats. If you put your hand in the back pocket and push on the inner cardboard, it'll make a pop sound. My popping sound is similar to that only not as loud. It's coming from the lumbar area. The passenger seat was creaking really bad whenever somebody sat in the seat and I accelerated or braked. That sound was definately fixed by the actuators.

I have the problem where my whole seats moves. You can feel some of the floor move a bit too. Seems like where the seats mounts to the truck is loose.

The dealer stated on their repair order that they removed the seats and found some loose connections. I do still have my popping and creaking and I have now figured it out completely!!! All this time and frustration and it turns out to be the seat belt retractor on the drivers seat. It was coincidental that the creaking stopped after they tightened everything up. Last night, I pulled the seat belt quickly making it lock. While driving it this way, I could hear it make louder popping sounds as I moved around. Now I know where to start my investigation on getting this fixed. It was hard to determine where the sound was coming from, but it was always on my left side. Now I know why.
