Hey everyone I just finished the install of my RCD 6" lift now everyone tells me that I will be going through U-joints like crazy is this true and if so they said to upgrade to heavy duty U-joints where do I get these and how much are they. I would like to hear from some guys that have lifted there truck 6" or more and are running at least a 35" tire that what im running. How many miles have you had your lift on for and how many U-joints have you replaced if any? Thanks in advance!!

I have that same kit with over 35k miles and have never replaced a u-joint nor do I need to.
MANY others have gone WAY more miles than me. I think JB went had around 60 miles on his rancho lift with around 90k miles total and never needed to replace his either.

consider your source when people tell you stuff like that. i bet 99% of them dont have a lifted truck or maybe they had problems with their hockey puck lifts back in the 70's and now all they do is tell guys that bad stuffs gonna happen when they do stuff to their trucks. i had guys tell me all kinds of stuff before i lifted my truck and guess what, none of it was right cause most of the guys didnt know the first thing about lifts, especially the new trucks and new lifts. also had the same guys tell me all kinds of bad s*** about diesles before i bought my truck but how would they know, theyve never even owned a damn diesel truck! so i did my reasearch and made my own decisions and im happy as hell with my lifted diesel so to those guys i say F*** em. plus your trucks already lifted so just drive it and see if you blow a u-joint, then replace it if you ever do. sorry bout the rant here just people talkin about crap they have no idea about piss me off.
oh, and the truck looks sweet bostic, and thats a kick a$$ license plate you got there, blaze on brotha!! :mexsmoke:

Great points, people just associate problems with horror stories that they have heard and have no damn experience. Proper matainance and youll be fine.:rocking:

Putting in stronger ujoints is always an option. Although there is a downside to it. Ox makes a nearly unbreakable ujoint for about any application. I wont touch one though. I hope my u joint breaks when i put enough shock on my drivetrain to blow one. Cuz if the ujoint doesnt break....what do you think will?

they are made to be the weakest link, but some people don't get that.

Agreed, Usually the trucks breaking u joint after being lifted only 6 inches are because the angles are off becaus esomeone installed the kit wrong. Nothing to worry about.

Ive have to agree. I dont think youll have a problem. I get less milage out of u joints with stock trucks.

9 Things I Hate About Everyone
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the heII is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
2 People who are willing to get off their azz to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.
3 When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you! can't eat it?
4 When people say "it's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their azzes!
5 When people say while watching a film "did you see that?". No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.
6 People who ask "Can I ask you a question?".... Didn't real! ly give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
7. When something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.
8 When people say "life is short". What the heII?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?
9 When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "Has the bus come yet?". If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbazz?
