View Full Version : full drop or knuckle kit?
Just wondering is a full drop better than a knuckle kit. Have been looking at different kits to buy and can't decide which to get, but found a great deal on a pro comp kit, but it is a knuckle kit. I don't plan on doing a whole lot of offroading, but maybe a little. It is for a 2000 Z71 1500

for extreme offroading and maximum tire clearance the full drop is the way to go.
for a mostly street driven vehicle and for ease or installation knuckle all the way (not to say knuckle is bad for offroading).
with a knuckle kit, you're looking at 6" max lift. With a full drop you can crank up to 8". Its all dependent on what you want to do.

knuckle kits wear your upper ball joint out faster, and they limit the offset and backspacing of wheels.

 how do they wear out your upper balljoints faster seeing as the UCA doesn't change orientation?
U guys rock. Answered my questions.
One more. How can u tell if a lift is a full drop or a knuckle kit by looking at the picture of the kit online.
