Hey,
Im getting my truck soon and its gona be extended cab. I want a nice system but i dont just want a bunch of bass that drowns out my music.

I really dont know much at all about systems but heres what i think I need for a loud system.

Descent head unit w/ an amp for my mids and highs, aftermarket speakers in place of my regular ones, 2 10's w/ a pretty good amp.

Is it even possible to hook up an amp to my mids and highs or do People not do that. Should I just buy a high power head unit?

Please help me out on all this because I really dont understand it.

Thanks jon

Yes it is!

My current set up is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a killer system that rocks the house in clarity and depth.

Here we go.
Speakers

Doors - Infnity Reference 6.5 Components - 199 (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=76400&I=108605CS&o=m&a=0)
Rear - Infinity Reference 4x6 - 99 (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=51400&I=1084652CF&o=m&a=0)
Sub - Infinity Kappa 100.3se (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=67600&I=1081003SE&o=m&a=0)

Amplifiers
US Acoustics 65w X 4 - 139 (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=120&I=235USX406B&o=m&a=0)

US Acoustics 280w X 1 - 99 (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=110&I=235USX208B&o=m&a=0)

Sub Box

Q-Logic (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-l6W0vUjqXUg/ProdGroup.asp?c=10&g=841&s=0)

You can pick your box from here or have a stereo shop custom build a box for you.. It will run around 240 bucks probably.

Head Unit

As far as headunits go you can pick whichever one you like the most. It just needs to have 3 preamp outputs so that you can hook up the amps with the least hassle. You'll still need other items as well such as wires and cables. For your power wires I would recommend 4ga coming from the battery with an inline fuse right near the battery. You will also need a fused distribution block with a 4 ga input and 2 8 ga outputs. Run these to your amps. Ground wires should be 8 ga. You can get some cables pretty cheap. Stay away from Rockford Fosgate or Phoenix Gold. They are way over price and not worth half of what people pay for them. My wrists are tired of typing but if you have any other questions just pm me.
