03 Silverado, 4800 Vortec, has been "float checked" in a pond... she failed.
bought her with a rebuilt title. I know she has a new body control module, and a couple of other assorted sensors.
today, I drove her about 145 miles, stopped and visited some folks for a while, then came out and attempted to leave. key in, lights on, dinger dinging, radio plays... no start, no turn over, nothing. when I release the key, I heard what can best be described as a crackling behind the dash, possibly some small relays freaking out.
ok, hood up, checking in the dark... battery connections are not as tight as they were when I put that battery in 2 wks ago. I am thinking "A-HA!!!", so I tighten the cables, get in the cab, turn the key... same indications as before. :nono:
I have NO idea where this idea came from, but I keep a code reader behind the seat in a bag with a dvm  so I get his idea to read and clear the codes, and see if it would make a difference. It had the same codes as usual, P0420. I erased, hit the key, and she fired right up! :cheer:
Does anyone have an idea what is up with that?
